Asus Usb-ac53 Driver Windows 10

May 10, 2013  Problem installing Asus AC53 wireless adapter I bought a 2 sets of Asus ac53 wireless adapters last weekend. The installation of the adapter went off without a hitch on my wife's computer, but I ran into a whole host of problems for mine.

As I had with Windows 7, I again run into the same issue with the Microsoft provided driver for my Asus USB-N53 dual band N wifi adapter, but with a new twist. The windows 10 Tech preview seems to have the same driver that only runs the 2.4ghz driver, since it automatically installed this driver upon the USB device being connect to the system and before I could use it to establish a connection to the internet. I can't 'rollback' to the correct driver as I did with windows 7.

When I attempt to 'update' the driver, windows refuses saying the one installed is more current. Then when I uninstall the device/driver, it re-installs the bunk driver immediately upon re-insertion. How do I force windows to use the correct driver and not the bad one Microsoft delivers?
